For those of you with acting/reenacting experience still eager to get involved with Copperhead, have no fear, for casting is not yet complete. The next day for background extras to show off their abilities and try to make the cast of this Civil War movie will be Saturday, April 14 from 10:30am until 6:30pm, at the same location as the other calls: the Visitors Reception Centre at Kings’ Landing Historical Settlement. The press release I received this morning reads as follows:
This American Civil War film is set in a farming community in upstate New York. Our filming will take place at Kings Landing Historical Settlement, NB, in May and June, 2012. Seeking men, women and children who look like they are from that time and place – the 1860s. Traditional skills (horse riding, folk dancing, cheese making, etc.) not necessary but an asset. ALL ARE WELCOME.
Also make sure to check out the Facebook Group (which has over 150 members!) that they have set up for extras to get the latest information. You can click here to view, but must send a request to be approved. The latest message from Extras Coordinator Ree Brennin states:
We are scheduling another extras (background performers) casting session for the movie Copperhead on Saturday, April 16 at the Kings Landing Visitor Reception Centre from 10:30 AM – 6:30 PM. All are welcome, as we are still seeking a wide variety of people. Based on the last two extras casting sessions, we also want to see more people in the following two categories: unusual faces with character from all age groups and women between the ages of 50 – 70+. Natural-colored, long hair is a definite asset.
When you arrive you will be asked to fill out a two-page registration form with you contact information, your sizes for costume fitting, and any pertinent skills you may have (but you do not need to have any special skills to apply). Then you will wait your turn to have photos taken – full body shot holding a sign with your name, and close-ups of your face. If you would like to bring any supplemental information (though not required) like a CV, resume, or printed photos, please bring hard copies rather than emailing them and we will attach them to your registration form.
We will do our best to provide coffee, tea, lemonade, and water, but you may want to bring snacks and some reading material. Thank you for your interest in this exciting opportunity and Civil War period film-shoot at Kings Landing. See ya there!
For more information, or if you have any inquiries on how to get involved, please email Ms. Brennin at email@example.com or co-producer John Houston, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Also make sure to check out the special page I have set up on this blog with the latest information for Copperhead. Have a great day!
